Situated in the Jura Mountains, an area ideal for mountain biking and suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced riders, the St-Cergue Mountain Biking Club was founded in February 2020 with the formation of a committee made up of enthusiasts.
The club’s main aim is to develop and promote mountain biking in the St-Cergue area and to enable young people (aged 10 to 20) to learn and improve their technical and physical mountain biking skills, all in a fun and safe environment.
If there is sufficient interest, the activities and training sessions may also be open to adults wishing to develop their physical and technical skills in mountain biking.
Training sessions will take place twice a week (on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings) in the St-Cergue area and will be led by instructors holding the ‘Jeunesse et Sport’ qualification. The committee’s target for the first year is to build up a group of 25 to 30 young members. The club welcomes young people from St-Cergue as well as from the surrounding towns: Arzier, Bassins, Le Vaud, Genolier, Givrins, Trélex and Gingins.
Thanks to close collaboration with the local authorities in St-Cergue and other local stakeholders, the club is planning, in the not-too-distant future, to create one or more fun training trails featuring obstacles. This unique facility in the region would be the go-to destination for all mountain biking enthusiasts.
The club is also looking for partners willing to invest in facilities to support the development of mountain biking through sponsorship.
Training sessions will be led by instructors holding the ‘Youth and Sport’ qualification: Youth Sports Cycling Instructor

Youth Sports Cycling Coach
«I’ve been passionate about mountain biking since I was a child, and I want to pass on my love of the sport to young people in the region. As a resident of Saint-Cergue by choice, it felt only natural to set up this school at the foot of our Dôle.»
