The first part of the route takes you through the valleys and past the typical farms of the Jura, with its peat bogs and «gogants» (fir trees with multiple tops), showcasing the Jura Vaudois Regional Nature Park in all its natural splendour. From Combe Grasse, you can take a short detour to the ‘Fruitières de Nyon’ alpine chalet to learn about cheese-making (in the morning) and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the Lake Geneva basin.
The second part of this trail exploring the St-Cerguois Jura takes you through pastures and forests. After passing through the Givrine plateau, you’ll come to the mountain pastures of Couvaloup, St-Cergue and La Trélasse.
We’ll head along the ski runs to reach the L’Archette area, one of the many mountain pastures whose cows take part in the famous ‘Désalpe’ in autumn. A final stretch along the Beatrix path and through the hamlet known as Le Vieux Château will reward you with a magnificent view of the lake and the Alps.
