Highly popular amongst sports enthusiasts who love the outdoors and want to cycle away from the main roads, mountain biking requires excellent technique and a very high level of fitness in competition, with events ranging from one-hour cross-country races to ten-hour endurance races.

Young driver

Younger children particularly enjoy riding on natural terrain, and mountain biking provides them with the ideal foundation for taking up other cycling sports.

In mountain biking, basic endurance, speed endurance, acceleration and explosive power are key factors, as are technique and coordination. These various components play a vital role in cross-country, downhill and four-cross – the disciplines practised in competition.
